From the Protostar interview with Dr. Zhao: Growing up in China, Christina Zhao loved learning languages and playing the piano—passions that ultimately sparked her curiosity in how the brain processes sound. “I just wondered: Why do we have all these different sounds? Why can we move our tongues around into different positions and they make funny sounds?”
