Erica Peterson
Postdoctoral Scholar
Erica Peterson is a post-doctoral scholar studying with Christina Zhao at the LEAP lab. A language neuroscientist who started out as a teacher, Erica became fascinated with functional imaging of the brain while researching diagnoses affecting her students. Erica uses M/EEG to examine the neural mechanisms of language learning with a focus on the functional connections that enable cortical coordination between disparate brain regions. At the LEAP lab, Erica examines cortical coordination in infants processing speech and music. In her spare time, Erica enjoys exploring the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest, writing and performing music, and spending time with friends.
