Libby Huber, Ph.D.

Research Scientist

Elizabeth Huber is a research scientist at the Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS). Her current projects examine language development during infancy and early childhood, with a particular focus on the role of caregiver-child interactions.

Her research incorporates behavioral and neuroimaging methods, most recently applying diffusion and quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to the study of white matter development in infancy, early childhood, and adolescence. She completed her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Washington, where she used functional MRI to examine auditory processing and tonotopic mapping in sensory cortex.

Other recent work has centered on reading development, including longitudinal predictors of reading readiness at preschool age and MRI correlates of reading skills during childhood and adolescence.
