MEG Research at I-LABS
Magnetoencephalography, or MEG, is a noninvasive imaging technology that detects and records magnetic fields produced by the brain’s electrical currents. Researchers use MEG to map brain activity and function by visualizing how billions of neurons and trillions of synaptic connections linking these neurons are working together. MEG is currently the most advanced method of recording and evaluating brain activity.
The I-LABS MEG Brain Imaging Center opened in May 2010 and was the first brain-imaging center in the world to focus on children. Since that time, I-LABS scientists have continued to produce first-in-the-world research, as well as advance MEG technology and methods.
