Ms. Fish graduated from the University of Washington in 2011, with a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and a minor in Italian. As a research assistant in Dr. Patricia K. Kuhl’s lab, Melanie is currently aiding in investigations of the perception/discrimination of speech sounds by monolingual and bilingual adults and infants, using event-related potential (ERP) technology. In the future, Melanie hopes to pursue a doctorate in one of her primary areas of interest, which include cognitive science, neurolinguistics, and first language acquisition.
