Dr. Matthew Kim is a Research Scientist at I-LABS and Teaching Associate in the College of Education at the University of Washington. Matt received his BA in Economics and Psychology at New York University and a PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Michigan. Prior to UW, Matt completed his post-doctoral training at the University of Oregon and has served on the research staffs at MDRC and Inflexion. Matt's research examines the nature and development of executive functions and motivation during the school transition period using behavioral, electrophysiological, and causal inference methods, and how these cognitive processes relate to early academic success.
