Dr. Peiyun Zhou works with Dr. Chantel Prat, Dr. Andrea Stocco, and Dr. Rajesh Rao. Her current research interests include applying machine learning methods to model learners’ mental states and predict their performance in language and cognitive tasks. Peiyun obtained her Ph.D in Educational Psychology working with Dr. Kiel Christianson and Dr. Susan Garnsey at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her dissertation examined how imagining a native or non-native speaker's voice during silent reading affects readers’ mental states and comprehension. She also explored individual differences in bilinguals’ language processing and users’ attention to advertisement on mobile devices.
